Looking Like: A mini transformation!/colour block

Today has been a preparation day for holiday!  I took photos before I left this morning, I was heading into town to get some books and a well needed haircut.  I thought I would include a before and an after snap for jokes!  I'm probably wearing a bit too much jewellery but I felt like dressing up my comfy outfit!  The t shirt is from Dorothy Perkins.  It's a nice simple take on the colour block trend and injects a nice bit of coral into my wardrobe of neutrals.  The trousers are Topshop, such a good buy.  Comfortable and stylish, cant go wrong. The necklace is from Warehouse, the cuff is topshop and the ring and belt are both Asos!  The brogues I got in Miss Selfridge and I wear them to death.  Tan is a great versatile (leg lengthening!) colour.

This bag is part of my Birmingham trip booty!  It's from Forever 21.  If you haven't been to Forever 21 yet YOU MUST.  I must have been in there for at least an hour and half picking up clothes and hats and other accessories.  It's just so cheap!  This Alexa-a-like was a mere £27 and is a lovely soft material.  I love it.
So, I'm off to Spain tomorrow for 2 weeks!  More from me on my return!

Sounding Like: Forgotten Gems!

I heard two songs on the radio today that I love and had almost forgotten about!  They're not that old but you know how it is, you replace your favourites with others as the months go by.

The first is....

Spitting Games by Snow Patrol.  I LOVED this album when it came out c. 2004? I'm not sure. I was certainly a youth at the time anyway.  I've not really been a fan of Snow Patrol other than this album but non the less, this is a great song. Here you go:

The second is from the Mystery Jets.  A personal favourite band of mine, I cant say I ever forgot this song (it was my ringtone for a good year!) but I haven't listened to it for a while so it was certainly a pleasant surprise!  The only problem is whenever I hear the drum beat intro I think my phone is ringing....

That's all on the music front from me!
I got my first follower today, HOW NICE! I feel bad that I'm going on holiday now... I will endeavour to make up for it though!

Looking Like: British Summer?

Hello all, had an absolute nightmare with my internet yesterday!  It's one of the woes of living in the countryside that you can often end up with no signal and no internet which for someone like me is very frustrating! This is actually what I was wearing yesterday.  I decided to pop into Birmingham on the train to get a few bits and bobs for my holiday on Friday. I'm really looking forward to going away now!  I wasnt expecting to be wearing any of my winter knits but yesterday the weather was MISERABLE.  This jumper is from Topshop.  I've had it for close to a year and I wear it all the time.  It's comfy, a lovely colour and has a nice grungy look to it.  The skirt is vintage, I found it in a shop called Wild in Nottingham.  It's got a nice metallic sheen to it.  The rings I bought from llymlrs online shop jwlry in her set of five rings.  They are lovely and arrived so promptly!  I wasnt expecting to receive them before my holiday and I was so pleased and excited when I did!  I can heartily recommend them.  The clutch is also vintage, from Cow in Nottingham.  Cow often has some great vintage finds all in one place which I love since I'm usually too impatient to riffle through a messy vintage rail!  The nail polish is from American Apparel.  It's a really unusual cornflower blue shade which I really like.  It matches everything.  The boots are from Topshop, I got them in the sale a while ago and I think they're going to get a lot of wear come winter time. But I have to say I hope I wont be wearing them again any time soon, it is sandles time! WHERE IS THE SUMMER WEATHER?!

Now as I said I'm actually going on holiday for three weeks on Friday!  I'm going to try and post a few more things before I go...  I'd love to know what you guys think.  I got my first comment the other day and it was very exciting!
All the best,

Sounding Like: Home

I heard Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros on the radio today and it made me feel so cosy in my house when the weather outside was miserable. I had to share it with you, just in case you haven't heard it before!  It has been out for a while, I think it was on an advert too but it didn't get as much airplay as I think it deserved!
You can enjoy it on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHEOF_rcND8

Looking Like: Flowers and Embellishments

I always find it a little hard to dress during the Summer holidays.  I know that I won't be seeing anyone I know so I want to be comfy but something about doing my make up and wearing nice new clothes ALWAYS puts me in a good mood!  With this in mind, today's outfit couldn't have been better!
This blouse was something I picked up for my final concert at uni.  It's a lovely colour and I ADORE the embellished sleeves, they add a Gothic edge that should take me right through Autumn and Winter.  The trousers I got in New Look a few days ago and they are my new wardrobe pride and joy!  They are unbelievably comfortable and are perfect for the Summer 70s vibe.  I wasn't sure about trying this trend as I am very pear shaped and struggle to find flattering styles on my legs but I can honestly recommend these.  Plus the cute plaited tan belt comes with them, easy accessorising!

The nail polish is Models Own - Utopia. (Please excuse the state of my nails, I can't remember the last time I had a manicure!).  This is such a lovely shade, somewhere in between lilac and nude. Perfect for summer.  I have also used the Silver Smash Up also from Models Own on my ring finger.  I'm always game for trying new trends on my nails and I quite like how it has turned out.  Once it starts chipping I will apply the smash up to every nail, such a quick way to keep your nails fresh without faffing around with base coats top coats etc!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

And so it begins...

So, here it is! My first post.
My name is Fiona and I am 21.  I'm currently studying English at University and I have a VERY nasty topshop habit!.  I imagine you will learn more about me as the days go by...!
I'm a little nervous as this is my first blog and typing my thoughts out is a little daunting!
I wanted to start this to combine my many passions in one place:
Writing
Fashion
Beauty
Music
Food
Books
Theatre
Opera
The list goes on...
I realise that this all seems a bit of a mismatch and perhaps too much going on for one blog but that's me all over!  Without all of this in my life I wouldn't be who I am and I am genuinely passionate about everything I do so it seems to make sense to me.
I hope you enjoy it
